Purdue University is a public land-grant research university located in West Lafayette, Ind. The Boilermakers compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level as a member of the Big Ten Conference.

The football team competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) while the athletic department sponsors 20 varsity sports in total, 10 men's and 10 women's. Teams are known as the "Boilermakers."
