The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company, known as Stop & Shop, is a chain of supermarkets located in the northeastern U.S.

Beginning in 1892 as a small grocery store in Boston's North End, it has grown to include 415 stores chain-wide with locations in Conn., Mass., N.Y., N.J. and R.I.

Stop & Shop has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Dutch supermarket operator Ahold (now Ahold Delhaize) since 1995.
