2024 NFL Fan Cost Index® Up 8.9% to $691.41; Average NFL Ticket Increases 12.2% to $136.38
Average Ticket for All 32 NFL Clubs Over $100 for First Time
Since 1991, TMR staff have annually compiled the Fan Cost Index® to generate comparable costs for a family of four to attend a National Football League (NFL) game in person. The FCI® uses the price of four weighted average non-premium tickets combined with the lowest stadium pricing for four sodas, four hot dogs, two beers and two souvenirs (adjustable team hats), along with a nearby parking spot.

The latest exclusive Team Marketing Report Fan Cost Index® data shows that the average cost of attending a National Football League game for a family of four during the 2024-25 season was $136.38, an increase of 12.2%, or $15.44 per ticket, from the 2023-24 NFL season (see full FCI® grid at bottom). Adding in game day expenses such as beers, hotdogs, sodas, merchandise and parking, the average NFL FCI rose by 8.9% to $691.41.
For the first time since TMR began compiling FCI data in 1991, all 32 NFL teams show an average ticket price over $100, as the last remaining sub-$100 ticket team, the Arizona Cardinals, joined the rest of their peers following their 15.9 percent increase in ticket prices, which left their average ticket price at $114.16. With the Cardinals’ ticket pricing jump, they are no longer the NFL’s most affordable average ticket, with that title now belonging to the Los Angeles Chargers, thanks to the Bolts’ average ticket price of $100.78.
Neither the Cardinals nor the Chargers can claim the the lowest FCI score, however, with the Atlanta Falcons and their total FCI of $557.62 the least expensive across the NFL. The Falcons, despite having a higher ticket price ($119.43) than both the Cardinals and the Chargers, can boast the league’s lowest FCI thanks to their gameday concessions that have remained essentially flat since launching with the opening of Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2017, including $5 beers, $2 hotdogs and $2 sodas.
On the high end, the Green Bay Packers dethroned the Las Vegas Raiders for the most expensive average ticket prices at $197.11 for the Packers (up 11.6% from 2023) compared to $166.90 for the Raiders (down 1.1%).
With the most expensive ticket crown now in hand, the Packers also vaulted to the top NFL FCI at $938.09 (up 9.9%), being the only NFL team currently above the $900 mark. Demonstrating how pricing can swing wildly and rapidly, just seven seasons ago the Chargers were the first team to crack $900 when they played at 26,000 seat StubHub Center in 2017 for their return to LA, while awaiting construction of SoFi Stadium.
Risers of note
- The Detroit Lions registered a meteoric 41.2% increase in their ticket pricing. This follows their breakout 2023-24 season, where coach Dan Campbell and their revitalized roster led them to the 2023-24 NFC Championship Game.
- On the back of their 2023-24 season that saw them defeat Detroit to reach Super Bowl LVIII, the San Francisco 49ers posted the league’s second highest average ticket price at $190, along with an FCI increase of 8.8 percent.
- Despite underwhelming on-field success, the Chicago Bears showed a 18.1% increase in their FCI, banking on their rebuild under No. 1 Draft Pick Caleb Williams and “Da Bears” large fan base to justify their significant increase.
Small to no gains of note
- The Kansas City Chiefs registered a mere 1.8% increase in FCI for 2024, despite a dominant 2023-24 campaign that culminated with a Super Bowl LVIII victory. However, after returning to another Super Bowl in 2024, there is reasonable expectation that continued high demand for Chiefs tickets will more significantly prop up their 2025 NFL campaign pricing.
- The Philadelphia Eagles, who defeated the Chiefs at Super Bowl LIX, registered a modest FCI of $791.18. Like the Chiefs, we can expect their FCI numbers to increase for the 2025 season on the back of their recent on-field successes.
- Only two teams — the Raiders (-1.1%) and the Minnesota Vikings (-6.2%) — reported a decrease in average ticket prices, likely indicating that their respective front offices could be relying on lower prices to sustain gameday attendance during a period of rebuild.

2024 Team-Specific Notes:
- San Francisco’s season tickets feature a “Member Inclusive Menu” with most F&B items, including soft drinks and hot dogs, part of the season ticket cost. Alcoholic beverages are extra. For 2024, fans with single game or secondary market ticket buyers pay $4.00 (16 oz.) for soft drinks and $5 for hot dogs, which would add $36 to the 49ers FCI. At that new total of $922.69, the team would remain the No. 2 FCI overall.
- Chicago’s ticket pricing includes 12% in local amusement taxes—9% by City of Chicago and 3% by Cook County.
- Both Los Angeles teams’ tickets include a SoFi Stadium Facility Fee of $2 per game ticket.
- Tampa Bay’s ticket pricing includes a 7.5% Hillsborough County sales tax.
- Tennessee’s ticket pricing includes a $2 Metro Government User Fee for Nissan Stadium.
- As part of Arizona’s stadium and site finance package, Arizona Sports & Tourism Authority adds an additional $7 Facility Use Fee (FUF) to each State Farm Stadium ticket.
Research Notes:
The Team Marketing Report Fan Cost Index® (FCI) is comprised of the prices of four average-price tickets, parking for one car and the least expensive stadium-available pricing for: two draft beers, four soft drinks, four hot dogs and two (adult-size) adjustable caps. Costs are determined through calls, emails and online research with teams, venues, concessionaires and season ticket holders. Identical questions are asked of all sources.
Average Ticket price (AT$) represents a weighted average of season ticket prices for general seating categories. This is determined by factoring the full season ticket cost for each category as a percentage of the total number of seats in each venue. This takes into account variable pricing. Premium seating (tickets that come with at least one added amenity or classified by team as premium) prices are not included in the average ticket price. Average Premium Ticket prices (AP$) are listed separately. Luxury suites are excluded. Season ticket pricing is used for any team that offers some or all tickets at lower prices for customers who buy season seats. When a seat category is not offered as a season ticket, we use the weighted average price sold by the team. Teams have a say in what seats are considered general or premium. “Oz” denotes size of the lowest-priced Beer or Soft Drink (Soft) in ounces and “$/Oz” is the beverage’s price per ounce. “AT$ %” and “FCI %” reflect year-over-year changes to AT$ and FCI.
TMR reserves the right to update FCI numbers when additional information is presented and verified.
