The Charlotte Checkers are an American Hockey League (AHL) team based in Charlotte, N.C., and playing at Bojangles' Coliseum (originally Charlotte Coliseum, then Independence Arena and then Cricket Arena; opened 1955; hockey capacity: 8,600).
