The Washington (D.C.) Freedom are a defunct women's professional soccer team founded in 2001 that played in the WUSA, W-League and Women's Professional Soccer (WPS).
Dan Borislow, owner of the phone service MagicJack, bought the Freedom in 2011, moved the team to Boca Raton, Fla., and changed the team's name to the MagicJack.
Borislow quickly came into conflict with the team's players, other team owners and WPS league officials.
