The Sioux Falls Canaries are an American Association of Independent Professional Baseball team based in Sioux Falls, S.D., playing home games at Sioux Falls Stadium (opened: 1964; capacity: 4,462), dubbed "The Birdcage" by locals.
The current Canaries began play in 1993 as a charter member of the re-established Northern League. Following the 2005 season, the Canaries were one of four teams to leave the NL and found the reformed American Association for 2006.
