Seattle Sounders FC is a Major League Soccer (MLS) team based in Seattle, Wash., and playing home games at CenturyLink Field (opened 2002; capacity: 68,740 | 37,722 for MLS regular season).

The team traces its Seattle professional soccer roots to 1974 and while a United Soccer League club, team ownership won an MLS expansion bid in 2007 and joined MLS for the 2009 season.
