The Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA) was founded in 1916 by Rodman Wanamaker, owner of New York City's Wanamaker's Department Store, to bring golf professionals together and "to establish and elevate the standards of the profession and to grow interest and participation in the game of golf."

Today, the PGA has approximately 23,000 members across 14 "Districts" and 41 "Sections."

Currently, tournamentwise, the PGA of America:

  • Conducts the Men's, Women's and Senior PGA Championships
