The Minnesota Wild are a National Hockey League (NHL) team based in St. Paul, Minn., and playing home games at Xcel Energy Center. The team practice facility is the TRIA Rink at Treasure Island Center, also in St. Paul.
The team was founded June 25, 1997, when the NHL announced expansion to 30 teams, officially adding the Nashville Predators for 1998-99, the Atlanta Thrashers (now Winnipeg Jets II) for 1999-2000 . . .
