The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) was established in May 2012 by the Minnesota legislature as a public body and political subdivision of the state.

Per Minnesota Statutes, 473J.07, Subd., 2 the MSFA is comprised of five board members who each serve four-year terms. The governor of Minnesota appoints the chair and two additional members while the mayor of Minneapolis appoints two members.

The MSFA was created as the successor organization to the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission (MSFC) to control, build and operate U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis as the new home stadium . . .
