The South Bay Lakers are an NBA G League team playing games at the UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, Calif., and founded in 2006 (as the Los Angeles D-Fenders).
The team is owned by their NBA affiliate, the Los Angeles Lakers, who were the first NBA franchise to own a team in what was then known as the NBA D-League.
