The Halifax Thunderhawks are a National Lacrosse League (NLL) team that play their first season in Halifax, N.S., with the 2019-20 season. Scotiabank Centre (capacity: 10,500) will be the team's home arena.

In 2018, Curt Styres, the owner and general manager of the Rochester Knighthawks, applied to move the team.

On Sept 13, 2018, the NLL announced Halifax as a new market for the 2019-20 season, while awarding a new franchise to Rochester, N.Y., where the Knighthawks will be reborn. Also joining the league for 2019-20 are . . .
