Blue Diamond Growers are a Sacramento, Calif.-based non-profit, grower-owned cooperative of more than 3,000 almond growers. The co-op is the the world’s leading processor and marketer of almonds.
Founded in 1910 as the California Almond Growers Exchange, the Exchange opened a new receiving and packaging plant in Sacramento in 1914 that eventually became the largest almond processing plant in the world. Today, the plant sits on 90 acres, covering 33 city blocks and serves at the cooperative’s headquarters.
