The Appalachian League (APP), also known as the Appy League, is a collegiate summer baseball league that operates in the Appalachian region of the U.S.
The league's 10 teams are based in Tenn., Va., W.Va. and N.C. and consist of rising college freshmen and sophomores playing with wood bats as professional teams do, rather than the aluminum bats used in high school and college play. Teams can carry up to 34 players on their rosters, with 32 active at any one time.
