Founded in 2000, Los Angeles-based Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) is an owner, investor and/or manager of numerous sports teams and venues. AEG is owned by Philip Anschutz, a Denver, Colo., resident.

Anschutz bought his father's oil drilling company, Circle A Drilling, in 1961 and following large returns in Wyo., began to diversify his holdings elsewhere in energy and then railroads, real estate, sports, newspapers, movies, theaters, arenas and music.
