On Aug. 5, 2019, the Oakland Raiders and Allegiant Air announced an agreement on naming rights for the under-construction Las Vegas Stadium. Going forward, the stadium will be known as Allegiant Stadium. Legends Global Partnerships represented the Raiders as the stadium’s official premium ticketing and sponsorships agency. (link)
On Aug. 14, 2019, Roc Nation announced a “long-term partnership” with the National Football League, as the NFL’s “official Live Music Entertainment Strategists” where the two “will work together to create and distribute music content across multiple music streaming services for a variety of initiatives.” This will include the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative and curating unofficial anthems from select artists to be played during NFL broadcasts, a podcasting platform for players (“Beyond the Field”) and a “visual album” of Super Bowl halftime shows plus a new Pro Bowl Community Concert. On Aug. 20, 2019, Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber announced that MLS awarded an expansion team to the city of St. Louis. Owners will include Enterprise Holdings Foundation president Carolyn Kindle Betz and six other female members of the Taylor family, making it the first female majority-owned club in MLS history. The team will begin MLS play in 2022 in a new soccer stadium located in the Downtown West district of St. Louis.
On Aug. 22, 2019, digital media company p1440 announced it had acquired VolleyballMag.com and will assume the publication’s digital assets, subscriber base, intellectual property, and decades of volleyball content and media assets, in addition to keeping on the publication’s veteran editorial team.
