The Shriners Hospitals for Children Open is a PGA Tour golf tournament founded in 1983 and played annually in the Las Vegas, Nev., area.
Since 1990, the event has typically been played in Oct. Numerous area golf courses have hosted the tournament. Currently, it is held at TPC Summerlin.
A tournament tradition in true Las Vegas style involves presenting the trophy to the champion while two showgirls flank the winner.
In 2007, the tournament announced that the Shriners Hospitals for Children would take over event . . .
