Founded in 1984 by Sharon and Joe Hernandez, Los Angeles, Calif.-based Melissa's Produce is the largest distributor of specialty produce in the U.S.

Melissa's began strictly as a source of specialty produce, selling to retailers in southern Calif.

Today, the company distributes internationally and operates out of a 330,000 square foot facility, offering both conventional and organic fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as value-added goods and a CCOF/QAI certified organic packing facility.
