Bally Sports Kansas City is a regional sports network (RSN) that first went on the air in 1998 as Fox Sports Kansas City, a subfeed of Fox Sports Midwest.
Following the 2007 MLB season, the Kansas City Royals decided to shut-down their team-owned Royals Sports Television Network season after four years and put the rights out to bid.
