Privately-held BioSteel Sports Nutrition is a Toronto, Ont.-based sports nutrition company, developing and manufacturing products including proteins and everyday essentials.
Founded in 2009 by Michael Cammalleri, a former NHL player and John Celenza, with Matt Nichol, a former NHL strength and conditioning coach, developing the original, non-commercial "high performance sports" mix of amino acids and electrolytes. (Interesting note: the beverage mix gets its pink color from beets.)
